Overview:

etailz is a high energy, passionate company with a casual environment. We are looking for part time in house counsel to join our compliance team.

Responsibilities

  • As a member of our compliance department, reporting to the Compliance Director, you will collaborate with all teams across etailz researching and communicating legal risk and helping guide our initiatives. The compliance team overseas the drafting and negotiating legal agreements, product compliance, marketplace compliance, IPR, antitrust, importing and exporting, and a variety of other projects. As an integral member of this team, you will be involved in it all.
  • As we grow, you will help etailz identify potential compliance risks, help shape the strategy of the compliance team’s initiatives and training, and gain an understanding of the regulatory landscape of or industry so we can focus on a proactive compliance program that supports the etailz model and culture.
  • The ideal candidate will be an outstanding legal professional that thrives on change, embraces challenges, and is dedicated to discovering solutions. Compliance is a value add department at etailz, and the right candidate will be flexible, helpful, and be able to think creatively and analytically to solve business problems and deliver valuable results.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor
  • Membership in good standing with WA state bar
  • 5+ years of legal experience
  • Ecommerce experience preferred
  • A mix of law firm and in-house experience is a plus
  • Flexibility and willingness to take on new challenges
  • Ability to provide concise, actionable, professionally written documentation and recommendations
  • Exceptional business judgement, problem solving and relationship-building skills
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Strong computer skills
